Friday, August 8, 2014: Traveling Art Edition
Last weekend, two artists came to Beacon and spent most of their waking hours eight blocks apart along Main Street. By the time they left town on Monday, two walls were completely transformed, and with them, the daily walk to the post office or train station.
Amanda Marie and X-O (aka Hyland Mather) were at the start of a traveling art project called Beautiful Times in support of the Morgan Adams Foundation for pediatric cancer research, and the Ladybird Johnson Wildflower Center (promoting the sustainable use and conservation of native American plants.) More information is available at the various links, but in the meantime, here are some photos from the weekend stopover. (Whoever thinks that making street art is all fun and games should spend an hour or two with these guys.)
