I love that middle photo – it puts me right there.
Not a bad place to be, in a field crossed by row upon row of prayer flags.
“Shadow Expecting Rain”.. Came back and looked at this one this morning, and the paradox is growing on me: your silhouette (with an umbrella) in what appears to be the last blaze of sunshine. That fiery light (and purple shadows) is downright bizarre… a fine shadow-selfie.
Thanks so much John. Let’s hear it for street lighting and fixed white balance settings that together produced the garish, totally deceptive hues. I tried color correcting them in Photoshop but the results weren’t half as interesting.
Another thing I like about this image is the way the wide-angle distortion makes the sidewalk grating in the lower left-hand corner almost vertical.
The funny thing is that I know the spot where I took this photo, and where I was headed immediately afterwards — no idea though where I had been coming from at that late hour. Maybe this is what happens when one spends too much time in Shadowland.
