Thanks John. This is one of my favorites too. I had a few other mashups I was willing to settle for until I saw this one. Its painterly exuberance came as a huge surprise.
Nice set, and I too like that “Tag Sale Mirror” very much. I don’t know what your process is for the mash-ups, so I’m wondering how much of a surprise they really are, but if you say so, I believe you. (I like the first one too, and I bet those were expensive tchotchkes.
I swear on a stack of my old slide projectors that “Tag Sale Mirror” came as a surprise. As in all the other mashups I do, there’s just no way to predict what new forms will emerge from the interplay of elements in the original images. It’s the exact opposite of Ansel Adams’ pre-visualization, and doesn’t always work as I may have hoped, for sure.
As for the tchotchkes, there are more where they came from — and for you Lynn, have we got a good price :)
:-) Cool! I love a bargain.
On rethinking everything I can understand that you’d not be able to predict how layers will interact, and I too find joy in the unpredictable, vs. the planned and carefully thought out. Happy Friday to you! I bet it’s gorgeous up there these days.
Enthusiastic like for “Tag Sale Mirror”

Funny, Linda, but I’ve never thought of you as being vain :)
Jokes aside, thanks so much for your comment.
