It’s not hiding much from you though. What pleasant abstractions and textures, all of them have a sense of earth-bound security somehow, I guess for the obvious reason, but maybe the formal element and dark, textured colors too.
Thanks Lynn. I would never have imagined that such prosaic scars in the street could lead to interesting images. Indeed, they’ve been present on the blocks around my house for months without my ever noticing them. And then, just the other day, something clicked (forgive the pun), and I was struck by one of them while glancing out my window.
And it all clicked into place, because your mind is boundless…
I know, enough.
Good set. I especially like “Beacon Street” and “Fossil Fuel Landscape” (semi-abstractions, I suppose, because you left us some cues in terms of scale and location).
“Fossil Fuel” has such a gorgeous palette with those orange and green accents. I’ve said it before so why not? It would make a great print.
Thanks so much John. One of these days, I’ll do a show that consists entirely of images you thought would make terrific prints :)

Very nice set, ag. More confirmation of my belief that we are all surrounded by beauty that we never see because…we can each fill in the reasons. Thanks for the reminder to keep our eyes open to it.
And thank you, Michael, for sharing this beautiful understanding.
Oh, I love these! Including the one with you in it.
Gee, I thought I was hidden :)
