Thanks Lynn. This photo was taken several years ago when my mother was 98 and suffering from dementia which made meaningful conversation problematic. In its place I turned towards the expressive arts to maintain a connection with her and that made all the difference. It evoked a playful side of her that had been hiding for tears and made for a wonderful time together. She died just a few weeks short of her 99th birthday.
