:-) The absolute worst was living in the Norwalk CT area & commuting to lower Manhattan – drive to the train station, fruitless search for parking, sometimes park illegally. Get on packed, horrible New Haven Line train, maybe stand the whole way, arrive Gr Central, join crowd flow to subway, wait on insanely packed platform, take insanely packed 4 or 5 train downtown, exit at dirty old Fulton St. Up the stairs, only to be greeted by police & 9/11 “souvenir” hawkers. Rush to work in Church St. bldg. adjacent to One WTC construction site. Two hrs ea way, not cheap either. But Seattle’s getting pretty crazy too, and I’m done with it. We’re going to find someplace quieter, still the PNW but farther from Microsoft, Amazon, etc.
The Hudson Line is still better than the others, IMHO. :-)
Beautiful set of images!

Here they are, the simple, and not so simple pleasures of the commute.

Thanks Lynn. My guess though is that you haven’t been an urban commuter lately :)

I get PTSD just reading your account :)
No wonder you moved away. Good luck with finding a quieter place.
