This is one of about 10 quick shots I made as the sun was setting of two photos I had in my house — one framed, the other just stuck in a corner of that frame. This particular image was the only one I really liked.
I’m touched that you would describe what was essentially a grab shot in such flattering terms.
It may well be a grab shot but it has all the elements of a file that make up a compelling image. I’m speaking of light, color, composition and subject matter. The one thing a photographer can never control is viewer response. Some will like an image, some may dislike it and some will be ambivalent. For me, I really like this. The amount of effort you put into it really doesn’t matter.
This is truly a masterful shot. No doubt.
