Wednesday, December 13, 2017: Closed Captioning Fail
by ag
Sorry but I couldn’t resist posting this screen shot from Vice-President Joe Biden’s Wednesday appearance on The View. When every day brings new allegations of sexual harassment by prominent men, even Closed Captioning can’t escape the zeitgeist:
All joking aside, the only reason I was watching the program was because of Biden’s moving exchange with Meghan McCain. It starts just after the 18:00 minute mark when she asks about coping with the terminal cancer diagnosis that both Senator McCain and Biden’s son, Beau (now deceased), received. His response comes as a welcome antidote to the mean-spirited state of politics in the age of Trump.
Amen!

I was impressed with the way Biden can comfort a person. I was very moved. Can’t picture Trump comforting anyone.

Agreed! Biden’s response felt pitch-perfect. Trump would have found a way to make it about himself.
