IAs a subscriber, I get an email when you publish a new post. This one is labeled “Friday, January 5, 2018: Windows on a Storm”. Since it’s still Thursday, January 4, do you have a new camera that can take pictures of the future?
Thanks Ken. The pain is quite manageable when one doesn’t leave the house. Even shoveling wasn’t too bad because the snow was so powdery.
Appreciate the note about the date. I noticed it was wrong soon after I posted and have already corrected it.
A camera that can take pictures of the future? Now that’s an intriguing, maybe even terrifying, thought. I’m sure artificial intelligence or neural networks will eventually come up with something like that. AI is already making the photographer’s eye superfluous.
Great set of shots. Those poor birds! I particularly like the Homeward Bound image. Very nicely executed :-) And of course I now have the song Homeward Bound running in my my mind…

What a wonderful series. The ridge of snow on the car brings back memories – I used to love seeing that (but not dealing with it). The window shots feel warm, if that makes sense. Emotionally. Love them all.
That’s the biggest difference between here and NY, those big temperature swings. It took me two years at least to get used to the steady state here….40’s and low 50’s, a bit of high 30’s, all winter, and much of fall & spring too. There’s something to be said for both climates, of course.
Actually, I think today’s atypical high was the effect of blood beginning to boil for thousands of New Yorkers who were responding to Trump’s latest verbal atrocity.
Really! Who would have imagined we could stoop to this? OK, not we, but our country is more and more of an embarrassment every time he opens his mouth. And the timing – just before MLK Day, unbelievable. Get this guy a filter!

Captivating series.
The whisper of the air is whitish, from whitish snowflakes moved by the wind that make me think about the fleetingness of all phenomena.

Thanks Lynn. It does make sense since I was inside a toasty house looking comfortably out at the wintry scene :)
Would you believe that today, the temperature reached 62F I think, and almost all that white stuff is thankfully gone?
