Now that you mention it Karl, I think you’re on to something: carrying as a metaphor representing the search for happiness, or the burdens we bear as we go through life.
You of course are the master when it comes to capturing this. On the rare occasions that I do street photography, I aways come away with newfound respect for your work.
Carrying is something archaic. We do fly to the moon, are connected by electronic devices each time with everyone, but if it comes to move a box from here to there we do have to use our hands and arms like we do since human beings stay upright. That’s fascinating to me.

I especially like the ladies carrying boxes as I generally like pictures of people carrying stuff. It shows a underrated side of the human condition.
