Your memorial to tree-dom is touching, and your twisted cables make me fear that they are implicated in the trees’ demise. They make a good photograph in your hands anyway.
One day later, this area was hit by a freaky rain storm/tornado that made these fallen trees look like mild weeding. Huge trees toppled over at their base, utility poles snapped like twigs, directional signs knocked over, and power out for more than a day for some. Nothing like the devastation that has followed forest fires, large hurricanes, earthquakes, and volcanic eruptions. but enough to make one marvel at the comfort we take for granted. Without my computer, I felt completely shut off from the world and at a loss as to what to do :)
Were you out again to this spot after the devastation? I have a program on my computer that kicks me off for five minutes every 30 minutes. I can’t tell you how often I don’t know what to do with those five minutes. Sorry your loss was greater.
Yes, it seems clear that progress is at it again…but what a nice quartet. I’m especially fond of the second – the slice – because there is so much to see there, the way you composed and framed and processed it. I could see a series done like that – you should come out here, boy, will you find plenty of felled trees to work with!

Due to construction, this spot was pretty much denuded of standing trees when I took the photos so I didn’t feel the need to return post storm.
Maybe you can get a program that suggests things you can do once the computer kicks you off :)

Thanks, Lynn, but I’ll pass on the invitation to come out to the northwest. Too much wet for me that I’m afraid would aggravate my mold allergy :)
Btw, I can’t take any credit for processing the second image. That’s pretty much just the way it looked.
