With special thanks to artist Robert Markey whose glass mosaic figures adorn Springfield’s Dwight Street railroad overpass (as well as other walls throughout the city) and form the basis of this inverted composite. More of his work can be found on his website here.
I followed the link to Markey’s work and wow, he sure produces a lot of different works….I like that a number of pieces are public art, always a good thing! And the little starling on gold leaf, I’d love to see that one in person. Gold leaf is a wonderful material, and black birds (especially ravens and crows, but even starlings) are such strong, mythical creatures. Thanks for featuring him, and I like what you did with the mosaic.
