Thanks Lynn. The trick is to shoot this in August but wait until December to post. What appears to be frost is actually the etched surface of a glass window. The background shadow is of another window and railing reflected in this one.
Outside, it must have been in the 70s or 80s; inside, where I was standing while taking this picture, maybe only a few degrees cooler.
