I normally don’t appreciate people walking in front of me as I’m taking a picture but in this instance it was a definite plus. I wasn’t even aware of it happening, but when I checked on the screen, I saw that the shadowy blur was a fortuitous complement to the other figure who initially drew my attention.
Maybe it was Cartier-Bresson’s ghost brushing past me :)
Special thanks as well for the not “too shabby” praise. In my book, that’s almost as good as a “wow!”
Or its equivalent…I re-found a used bookstore over here the other day, one I’d been to years ago and half-forgot about. It has an eccentric owner/manager (I believe) whose friends arrive to ask if he’s eaten; I have the impression they’re afraid he’ll forget. The order is disorderly in terms of classification, but the stock is excellent. There are tall piles of interesting books on the floor everywhere, all carefully stacked. Look at the photos on this yelp page and you’ll see: https://www.yelp.com/biz/eclipse-bookstore-bellingham-2
And read the 10/27/15 review – perfect description. Very different from Raven’s Books but it has its own poetry.
Too funny! But the academic-oriented books I used to see at Ravens, those were always fun to get lost in, and I don’t see those quite as much around here. But PNW’ers do like their books and they care about their indie bookstores, which is great.
I love the first photo for the color and complicated composition; and the second one isn’t too shabby in its abstract simplicity.

I’m with Linda – and I missed this – or am I that far behind?
