I absolutely love this! Here are some of the things I love most, besides your unerring composition: the glow of the light on the wall, the shadow of the interesting tree, the bench with its vertical stripes under the short horizontal stripe of the pipe, all the other stripes, the shadows on the bench—ah, that’s enough to say, I guess—except to add “the whole gestalt.”
Interestingly enough I was just at that location again to see what it looks like with a stronger tree shadow. (This posted image was taken in fading sunlight near the end of the day.) Alas, I was too early and the shadow was not yet behind the bench.
Not sure about the grab bar. To help seniors sit down? Tie up your horse? Dry towels (there were also a nearby reflecting pool and waterfall at one time)?
Now, the brutalist nature of this place makes it a rather unpleasant location to hang out. Plans though are in the works to update it.
But you transformed any brutalist atmosphere with the glowing light behind that wonderful tree shadow. Let’s hope the updating doesn’t harm the tree in any way.

Well thanks for the effusive praise, Linda.

But I’ll be back!

The diagonal pavers, or bricks, add a nice texture and rhythm….and what’s with the grab bar? Very nicely done, Alan, peaceful.
