Thanks Linda. Very impressed that you knew what this was. Back in 2013, I photographed a white version of it (https://bit.ly/2PQUI9O); today’s subject was brown, and was used to pack some coffee mugs.
It really is quite beautiful, isn’t it, and almost a waste to use it in packaging. My two pieces now function as partial window treatments :)
Ooo, those were nice, Alan. Mine is brown, and I think it wrapped some mail-order fruit someone sent us. Yes, it is beautiful. You must get some pretty cool shadows with that window treatment.
I hadn’t thought of using the material to produce shadows because I was so enamored of its curving texture and the backlight coming through it. Right now, I have it in two windows that don’t get direct sunlight, but if and when the sun comes out again, I’ll definitely start experimenting. Thanks so much for the idea.
