Did you take this with your iPhone? How did you manage that? I’ve tried to do ICM with my iPhone and failed miserably. I like this image a lot (the colors, the distribution of light and dark, etc., etc.), no matter how you took it, BTW.
I didn’t even know one could do this with an iPhone until the other night when I accidentally moved it while shooting in low light. The camera app only allowed a 1/4 second exposure so timing was everything and the whole process was completely hit or miss — mostly miss! I attempted several shots and finally gave up. This was the only one that worked.
Oh, not at all – the “swarm” is way off the Oregon coast, very far from here. I don’t think any humans have been affected (who knows about sea creatures?) We’ve had a good supply of water, food, a crank radio, camp stove, etc. on hand for years. Just in case the big one happens and things get iffy.
Let us know how you do. Thanks to your query, I did some more research and got the Halide app. Intriguing how it does extend the iPhone’s photo capabilities. Looking forward to putting it through its paces. Hopefully, I’ll have some worthwhile results to post in the near future.

Apparently though there are alternative ways to get better, more consistent results. See this site for some helpful suggestions:

Very cool – I love it when things go “wrong” like that!

Good to hear. I may have misinterpreted news headlines about earthquakes rattling the northwest in an overly broad way.

Thank you, Alan! After determining that my iPhone doesn’t have the Effects option, I downloaded Slow Shutter Cam and will see what I can do with it.
