Ukraine is definitely on my mind — how can it not be — but I never connected the colors I used with the country.
Not being a color theorist, I used trial and error to come up with a color I liked for the squares and rectangles. An unexpected effect was the 3-dimensionality they add to the image.
Much as I would have liked to express solidarity with the Ukranian people as other photographers have done in a photo, I’ve been at a loss to do anything meaningful — other than donate money to their rightful and hopefully successful resistance.
I think feeling at a loss is prevalent now. I guess we can take heart at the strength of the resistance there and the willingness of other countries to help.
I see blue and yellow – Ukrainian colors – on your mind? Whatever the case, you did a great job of mashing up the “real” and the other stuff. ;-)
