Since the start of the year, Iâve been drawn to a more âpainterly expressionisticâ approach that doesnât hold back on color. Not sure if this is a response to dark times caused by Covid, the war in Ukraine, and domestic upheaval in the U.S. â or just what happens later in life when I find myself saying, âbeen there, done thatâ and decide to explore new ground. Maybe all of them!
Recently, I’ve begun toying with the phrase “emotio-realism” to describe the work.

Love these saturated colors! The last one especially. So interesting what color can do for an otherwise âaverageâ view.
