It’s a great post, Alan. Let me just say that I recognized your expression, my understanding being that both responses can be valid at the same time, not only with Zen but with all traditions. My familiarity is shallow…a wandering middle way.
…I can’t tell if that is the look of skepticism or one of “Hmm! Pretty good!” A Photographic koan?
