Thanks Linda.
John Todaro had some really special tire images awhile back but I wouldn’t know how to find them.
John, if you’re listening, maybe you can direct us to them.
I love these and hope you’ll do more. :-)
Thanks Lynn. I’ll try but I don’t come across such large, abandoned tires very often. And I certainly don’t want to get run over by a giant truck while photographing its wheels :)
alan, great shots; we should go back to the scrap yard!
alan: great shots; i am inspired to go back to the scrap yard with you, even if these weren’t shot there!
Hoping to get back to the scrap yard in September as soon as I can figure out what my schedule is.
These shots were made at a construction vehicle rental place while waiting in line for my car to be inspected.
On a related note, wasn’t there an enormous mound of tires somewhere along RT. 95 in your vicinity that the authorities shut down many years ago?

not that i remember; there is a huge pile of scrap metal just at the Quinnipiac Bridge in New Haven.
Could it have been off of I-84 near Waterbury?
I never tire of this subject. Top and middle images pair up wonderfully. Here’s the set you asked about:
